Meetings are held at 7.30pm on the 2nd Thursday of

each month in the Charter Hall

 Becoming a member of Smarden WI .........

 

If you are interested in becoming a member, please come

 along to the next meeting as our guest, to try us out. 

Should you wish to join, Membership costs £44 per year.

A percentage of this goes to the County and National Federations.

 

The remainder is used by Smarden WI Committee for hall bookings, fees

 for speakers etc and sundries.

Organisation:

The Smarden WI is run by a Committee, including a President, two

        Secretaries, Treasurer and up to six other members. 

                                   Our AGM is held in January.

 

Meetings: 


A Visiting Speaker is usually booked for each meeting. Talks are on a variety

 of topics which have been chosen by members at the Annual Planning 

Meeting.


A Demonstration of Christmas Crafts

 

 

Monthly Competition: 

Members are encouraged to take part in a themed competition each month.

Creative Hats Competition - Barbara Spear, Marina Hope (winner), Geraldine Dyer & Nora Batt

 

Raffle:

Members are able to participate in a small raffle, proceeds of which go towards local funds.

 

Trading Table:

 Members can sell items on this stall with 10% of money going to WI funds. Members may also donate goods to be sold.

 

Refreshments:

During the interval tea or coffee will be served by members on the hostess rota.

 

Other Activities:  

Monthly walks; outings; craft mornings; quizzes; book club;

 participation in SWIPAG events (Smarden WI Performing Arts Group);

  visits to other WI’s; Smarden WI is always open to ideas from all the
